Chuck Clayman is one of the founding partners of Clayman and Rosenberg and presently serves as the firm's chairman. A graduate of Harvard College and University of Pennsylvania Law School, he began his practice as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan under the legendary District Attorney Frank Hogan. He later served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of New York and as General Counsel to the New York City Department of Investigation.
Chuck specializes in white collar criminal defense. For almost three decades he has represented individuals in federal and state investigations and prosecutions throughout the United States. These matters have included payola, violations of the foreign corrupt practice act, tax evasion, securities fraud, and money laundering. He is also a recognized expert in the area of internet gambling and has represented and advised domestic and foreign corporations in this emerging practice area.
Chuck has lectured widely and has taught CLE courses in federal and state criminal practice for the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He is also a long time faculty member of the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program at Cardozo Law School.
Chuck participates actively in many civic and professional organizations. He serves as vice-president of the Board of the Churchill School, treasurer of the Board of Young Playwrights Inc. and is a member of the Board of Directors of Hale House, organizations which serve the needs of children and young adults. He is a past Board member of the New York Council of Defense Lawyers, and he is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York where he served on the Criminal Law and Human Rights committees.
