Isabelle Kirshner successfully negotiated an almost unheard of disposition for a pharmacist charged in federal court in New York with conspiracy to distribute prescription controlled substances. After months of negotiations that relied heavily on a detailed analysis of the government’s evidence, Isabelle convinced prosecutors to allow her client to plead guilty to the strict liability misdemeanor of filling forged prescriptions without having known that they were forged. As a result, Isabelle’s client avoided a prison sentence and, in fact, was spared a sentence of probation as well. The final sentence: a $1,000 fine. The original felony charges were dismissed.
